I used to think Mahjong was almost entirely luck, especially in the beginning. It felt like if I didn’t draw the right tiles, there was nothing I could really do.

But after playing more, I started noticing that some hands went better not because of what I drew, but because of how I reacted. Things like when to commit to a pattern, when to change direction, or even what I choose to discard started to make a difference.

So now I’d say it’s both — luck gives you the situation, but skill determines what you do with it.

I’m definitely still learning, but it feels a lot less random than it did at the start.

I would say 5. finding people to play with, as well as 2. recognizing winning hands,

Everyone is busy with different priorities so it is hard to find like-minded people nowadays. I am just hoping to connect with other Mahjong players near me.

Also I still need to improve my skills and sometimes the tiles/hands are just confusing lol.

I will discard the red or green dragon as they are isolated.
